Teleline – Power Supplies

Universal Power Supply Chassis

The 750004 module is a durable, wall mounted, 60950-1 compliant steel closed chassis. It has with two card slots can house Positron’s plug-in power supplies in the first slot and the -24 Vdc battery back-up plug-in module, Model # 751312, in the second slot.

The chassis can house either a power supply card or a battery back up card, but not both at the same time. Positive, negative or floating outputs can be selected using a setting on the chassis backplane.

The chassis can be mounted in two ways:

  • On a backboard using four #10 screws (supplied in kit) on the “A” plane. The power supply or battery back up cards can then be slotted into the chassis.
  • On a backboard using four #10 screws on the “B” plane.

Features

The chassis can be interconnected for a greater power output. It can be used with the following power supplies and battery back-up modules:

  • 751312 – Plug-in Battery Back-up module
  • 751313MC – 120 Vac/130 Vdc to -24 Vdc Plug-in Power Supply
  • 751316 – 48 Vdc to -24 Vdc Plug-in Power Supply
  • 751318MC – 120 Vac/130 Vdc to -48 Vdc Plug-in Power Supply
  • 751319MC – 48 Vdc to -48 Vdc Plug-in Power Supply

Plug-in Battery Backup Card

The Plug-in Battery Backup Card provides DC power to the 5-card Shelf or the
8-card Shelf in the event of a power interruption.

The unit indicates the battery charge status via a front panel LED, and provides front panel test jacks for direct measurement of the battery voltage under load/no-load conditions. A momentary contact push-button on the front panel enables the introduction of a test load on the batteries to permit accurate LED indications when the Battery Backup Card is not actually powering the shelf.

The Battery Backup Card is normally kept recharged by the Plug-in Power Supply card, Model 751313, 751316, or 751324

Plug-in Power Supply Card 120 Vac /-24 Vdc or 130 Vdc/-24 Vdc

The plug-in power supply card 751313MC provides 120 Vac or 130 Vdc to -24 Vdc power to the 5-card Shelf or the 8-card Shelf. It also offers the possibility of recharging the Plug-in Battery Backup Card, Model 751312.

If the plug-in battery backup card is not used, then two plug-in power supply cards may be installed in the 5- or 8-card Teleline shelf for redundancy. Each card is capable of providing the power required by a fully loaded shelf. When two cards are available, the load is shared by the two cards. If one of them fails, the other one takes over the full load without interruption of power.

Features

  • The card can operate from 120 Vac or 130 Vdc
  • The card is thermally protected. In case of overloading, the card will stop when too high a temperature is reached and will restart once it cools off
  • The card allows for redundancy if two are connected in the shelf. If one card fails, the other takes over the full load
  • The card can be used in conjunction with the Plug-in Battery Backup card, Model 751312, to provide an uninterruptible power supply when working from 120 Vac
  • A “Power In” LED and a “Power Out” LED allow easy assessment of power supply functionality

The power supply can be housed in the 5-card Shelf (751112/1 or 751112/15), the 8-card Shelf (751109/13 or 751109/15), or in many of our High Voltage Interface (HVI) pre-configured units.

Plug-in Power Supply Card 48 Vdc to -24 Vdc

The Plug-in Power Supply Card is powered from a -48 Vdc source and provides -24 Vdc power to the 5-card Shelf or the 8-card Shelf. The card has a floating input, and does not ground the station batteries. It also offers the possibility of recharging the Plug-in Battery Backup Card, Model 751312.

If the Plug-in Battery Backup Card is not used, then two Plug-in Power Supply Cards may be installed in the 5- or 8-card Teleline shelf for redundancy.

Power Supply Card

Each card is capable of providing the power required by a fully loaded shelf. When two cards are available, the load is shared by the two cards. If one of them fails, the other one takes over the full load without interruption of power.

Features

  • The card is thermally protected. In case of overloading, the Power Supply Card will stop when too high a temperature is reached and will restart once it cools off
  • The card allows for redundancy if two are connected in the shelf. If one card fails, the other takes over the full load
  • The card can be used in conjunction with the Plug-in Battery Backup Card, Model 751312, to provide an uninterruptible power supply when operating from a 48 Vdc source that can be interrupted
