4-wire T1 Standalone Isolator Unit

The 4-Wire T1 Standalone Isolator Unit consists of an isolation card mounted inside a compact enclosure, with or without an integrated power supply. Molded from fiberglass, the enclosure is lightweight and flame-retardant with high-dielectric strength. The fiberglass body limits the possibility of many kinds of infiltration while providing reliable isolation from external ground potentials.

The standalone unit is shipped with an installation kit that includes a high-dielectric strength, 6-pair CMAW cable for connection to the incoming Central Office (CO) cable.

4-wire T1 Standalone Isolator Unit

The 4-wire T1 Standalone Isolator Unit (Models 751228R2 and 751228SP) provides high voltage isolation between an incoming 4-wire T1 carrier line and a Network Interface Unit (NIU) located in the substation.

751228R2 incorporates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) for increased reliability and greater Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)

751228SP incorporates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) for increased reliability and greater Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and offers a span powering option that provides 60 mA @ 48 Vdc to the NIU or NTCE. The Power Supply of the Model 751228SP accepts a variety of voltage inputs with battery back-up on the Station side

Applications:

  • T1 Carrier (1.544 Mb/s)
  • E1 Carrier (2.048 Mb/s)

Features

  • Units are suitable for transmission at frequencies up to 5 MHz provided the data line is conditioned appropriately
  • Isolation of 50 kVrms (70 kV peak) while maintaining full communication between terminals
  • Communication maintained across the gap by isolation transformers that provide low-loss low-distortion transmission
  • When not using the span power option, units do not require power
  • The unit provides for simplex DC loopback on the CO side. The DC is not transferred to the Station side
  • The unit's enclosure resists the infiltration of dust, mist, and water from sprinklers
